"Sedaduas" is a play off of the Portugese word "Saudades". I hand crafted the mockups below. I used velvet and texutred paper to create a luxury look. I created a custom dieline of a box that would open to reveal the perfume bottle in the velvet interior, with the logo type in white and a piece of vellum that explained the meaning behind the name.

The logo was designed with two blackletter S’s mirroring each other and brought together. I love that the logo is a visual representation of the closeness that this word signifies.

A brief definition of the word is below, as there is no equivalent in the English language.

Saudade describes a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. It often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might never return. It's related to the feelings of longing, yearning. Saudade is the recollection of feelings, experiences, places or events that once brought excitement, pleasure, well-being, which now triggers the senses and makes one live again. It can be described as an emptiness, like someone or something should be there in a particular moment is missing, and the individual feels this absence.
