My Career Journey
2011-2015
I started my career in the music industry. I initially worked as a BTS photographer for artists and for the TV show Nashville. I then moved into design, at Big Machine Label Group, designing alongside the Art Director and partnering on projects for Taylor Swift for the Creative Director. I then moved to a local branding agency where I designed the 1989 album for Taylor Swift, 747 Lady Antebellum, I also designed tour books for TV shows American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance?, and partnered on other branding projects for local hotels, higher education, and logo designs.
2015-2020
While working at the branding agency, I became disheartened by the idea of just touching the surface of a brand, and became curious about creative leadership. I wanted to impact how the brand functioned, how they approached marketing, and control the end to end experience to ensure the brands I worked on were cohesive after launch. After witnessing the difficult burnout for other creatives I had worked with, I became passionate about building my own team, and wanted to create a work environment where creatives were valued for their contribution, paid their worth, and given an opportunity to have a better balance in life to fuel their creative pursuits. I’m a believer that “employees are your greatest asset”, and so I wanted to truly leverage my team. I started out on my own for 5.5 years, absorbing branding like a sponge and crafting my unique approach to branding and project management.
During these 5+ years, I continued my strong footprint in the music industry, designing Grammy award winning Bob James’ collaborative album with Nathan East, The New Cool. I also partnered with Kenny' Chesney’s Blue Chair Bay Rum, and worked with Nashville indie record label Blue Rose Music. For 3.5 years, I handled the branding, design, and digital marketing for a local brokerage Armstrong Real Estate. Other independent design projects include a novel, print advertisements, website design, children's book layout, catalog design, corporate logo design, music industry poster design, newsletter design, and fitness ebooks including The Strong Movement and Strong & Sexy Fit.
2020-2022
I started craving the collaboration of a team, and really wanted another experience as an in-house creative, where I could use my passion for branding to transform an organization from within. So I jumped back into the traditional work force. I was hired at what was formerly Michael Hyatt + Co. and pitched, strategized, and delivered a full-scale company rebrand for the company to become Full Focus. This unified the customer journey, and helped the company simplify all around while building a stronger footprint for the future. I worked as the Creative Director, building a team of creatives, and took over the video production for courses and marketing initiatives. I was instrumental in building more efficient internal processes and systems, as well as advocating and strategizing on a better PM system within Asana. After internal company layoffs where my entire team was impacted, I decided it was time to go back on my own and discover what was next for my career. The rest is still unfolding.
